Founded in 1980, Land's Sake is a private, nonprofit corporation dedicated to responsible stewardship of suburban farmland and forests. By combining ecologically sound land management with hands-on environmental education, we provide a powerful model of how public open space can be effectively used and enjoyed by the community. Our efforts are centered on three themes:

  • Sustainable Land Management and Open Space Preservation
  • Environmental Education
  • Community Building and Care

Within this framework, we focus on farming, forestry and educational activities.

PARTNERSHIPS

Land's Sake is fortunate to be part of a synergy that has created a healthy and diverse community stewardship network within the Town of Weston, Massachusetts. We work with, and contract to, theWeston Conservation Commission and the Weston Forest and Trail Association. These groups, along with Weston Land Trust, our own members, and local residents all play an important role in ensuring continued care of our local natural resources.

Land's Sake is also a founding member of the Farm Based Education Association dedicated to the promotion, inspiration and nurturing of farm-based education everywhere!  We are a model for community-supported experiential education and we are proud that we can make a lasting effect on a young person.  Or an older person for that matter!  Please come out to the farm and see for yourself all the things you can learn.  You'll be pleasantly surprised.
