Farm and Forest Explorers

Farm and Forest Explorers is a program for 4th and 5th graders based at the 40-Acre Farm at Land’s Sake and the Case Woods. Our goal is to get kids excited about learning about the outside world and feeling comfortable on the farm. It is also a great preparation for our Green Power program once kids reach middle school.

Come join us for a week during the summer or afterschool in the spring and fall. Members receive a discount on Farm and Forest tuition. To receive this discount, become a member before registering. To register for the Farm and Forest program, please click here. This program will introduce your child to farm, forest, and other ecological landscapes. Together we plant and harvest from the children’s garden, feed our chickens and collect their eggs, explore plant communities and animal habitats in the immediate area, create art projects using nat ural and found materials, and play nature-based games. When seasonally available, the group will make snacks such salsa, pesto, and raspberry smoothies.
