Join the Land's Sake Forestry crew for a morning of wood splitting in the Highland St. Forest. It's a great way to learn about our sustainable forestry practices, see a tree felling demonstartion, enjoy some hot cocoa, and get a great workout. Wear boots, dress warmly and bring water.

You can park near the back of the Meadowbrook School athletic fields near the corner of Rt. 30 and Highland St. There is a plowed gravel road that leads back to the gate to the forests.  Once you park, just walk a few hundred yards down the trail and you'll see us.  For a map of the area, click here.

For information, please email Dave Quinn at dave@landssake.org.

Land's Sake is currently undergoing an organizational assessment to help improve its programs and mission. Please come to our public forum to discuss the organization's current role in the community and gather ideas for future growth. Come for any or all of it—we'd benefit greatly from your ideas, suggestions, and brainstorms. Your feedback will help inform us as we embark on a search for a new Executive Director in 2010 and as we look towards our next 30 years as Weston's own educational farm.

If you can't make it to the forum, please complete our short online survey by clicking here. Two participants will win a $50 Land's Sake gift certificate.

Kick off the maple sugaring season by helping us tap approximately 200 maple trees around Weston. This fun, educational event is especially popular with families!

Land's Sake staff will provide a tapping demonstration and participants will be divided into groups and assigned to various locations across town to tap sugar maples, so please be on time. After the event, join us at the Bill McElwain Sugar House for some hot cocoa and cookies!

We are limiting this event to 50 people, so please RSVP to dave@landssake.org if you would like to attend.

A REQUEST: Land's Sake will provide most of the supplies, however, we do encourage you to bring your own power drill and 5/16" drill bit, if you have one. This will allow for more people to be tapping at the same time.
