The Land is Good: Be Good to the Land One of the main stems of our mission is to farm: to raise food crops in the suburban landscape and help people connect to the land through the food they eat. We believe strongly in the value of local food, sustainable food production systems, and the benefits of maintaining a working and productive landscape. Land's Sake uses only organic practices and seeks to be as sustainable an operation as possible. We sell our produce at our farm stand and also wholesale to a few select accounts. We donated over 22,000 pounds of food to local food banks in 2007. In 2008, we will be offering shares of our production in the CSA model. We are continually looking for ways to diversify in order to maintain a financially successful farm that will help to offset some of the education and outreach activities of Land's Sake as a whole. Your patronage of our farm stand is essential to helping us continue with our not-for-profit work on behalf of the community. Land's Sake farms on approximately 30 acres of town-owned land in Weston, Massachusetts. Our primary location, also known as the Case Farm, at 86 Wellesley St, Weston, was formerly a specimen tree collection and owned by Harvard University as part of the Arnold Arboretum. The Town of Weston bought the land after considerable public effort in 1985. Land's Sake leases the land from the town to raise crops organically, host education activities, and maintain the agricultural landscape of the town. Our organization also raises crops at a few other town-owned parcels in Weston. You are always welcome to come visit the farm, enjoy the setting, and purchase our produce. Thanks for supporting us with your patronage. It has been a great year.
