Conservation Land Management

Land's Sake has pioneered a public-private partnership with the Town of Weston to manage public conservation land for the benefit of the community. We manage diverse types of public land, including old farmland, orchards, and forests within Weston. We create a working landscape, actively farming some fields and maintaining the agricultural capacity and aesthetic heritage of farming by mowing and retaining old fields as open space. We also support the community gardens where plot-holders seasonally utilize their garden allotments.

On behalf of the Weston Forest & Trail Association, Land's Sake also assists with trail maintenance projects throughout the town. Over the past fifty years, the Weston Forest & Trail Association has designed and built one of the most extensive trail systems in the Boston suburbs which includes approximately 100 miles of trails. We have been proud to partner with this important land trust to maintain the commons of our community.
